Dr. Muneeb Ul Hassan is currently working as an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Cybersecurity at Deakin University, Australia. He previously worked as Postdoctoral Research Associate in Security & Privacy at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. did his Ph.D Degree from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia in 2021. He did his Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering from COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology, Wah Cantt. He secured 3.89/4.00 CGPA and was awarded with Gold Medal from University for being the topper of Electrical Engineering Department.

H is a Senior Member of IEEE and an active contributor to the international research community. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), UK, recognising his commitment to excellence in higher education teaching and learning. In addition, he is a recipient of the IEEE TCSC Award for Excellence in Scalable Computing - Early Career Researcher (2022) for his contributions to privacy preservation in blockchain and decentralized energy systems. He has also received multiple Top Peer Reviewer Awards and Highly Cited/Hot Paper recognitions from Clarivate. His research has been published in leading venues, including IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (IEEE S&P), IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, and ACM Transactions on Privacy and Security. His publications have received more than 2,500 citations, with a cumulative journal impact factor exceeding 150.

His research interests include cybersecurity, differential privacy, privacy-preserving AI, blockchain, electric vehicles, smart grids, federated learning, large language models, and secure intelligent systems.

He has served in several leadership and technical roles at major IEEE conferences, including Program Chair and Organizing Committee Member for IEEE HPCC 2023, Local Organizing Chair for IEEE DSS, DIKW, DependSys, and SmartCity 2023, and Track Chair for IEEE CloudCom 2019. He has also served as a Session Chair for IEEE ICC 2020, IEEE ISPA 2018, and SpaCCS 2018. His technical program committee and reviewing activities include IEEE ICC (2020–2026), IEEE CSCN (2023, 2024, 2026), IEEE VTC, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE WCNC, IEEE ICDM, and other leading international conferences.

He is also serving as a reviewer of more than 50 ISI indexed journals including ACM and IEEE Transactions. He also has been a Reviewer for more than 18 International conferences.
